WeLuvKidspediatrics is a full-service full-time pediatric practice located in Westerly, Rhode Island. Russell Stokes, MD is a board certified pediatrician and board eligible emergency physician who has practiced primary care medicine for over 30 years. He has practiced exclusively in Westerly for 10 years and has maintained a loyal and healthy practice serving caring families.

The staff at WeLuvKids is dedicated to providing quality health care to all children from birth to college entrance. At the present time we are limiting entry to the practice to those families with newborns.

Appointments

Recommended visits include visits to the nursery at the hospital prior to discharge home, at the office at 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months 15 months, 18 months, 2 years, and yearly thereafter. Additional visits may be recommended for either health or developmental reasons.

Physicals

State and school officials recommend immunizations, developmental screenings, vision and hearing screenings, and lead and anemia screening at annual visits. If you have questions regarding immunizations and screening feel free to contact the office.

New Patients

Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your first appointment. Be sure to bring your child's health insurance card and immunization record. If you are transferring care from another practice, please contact your former physician well before your appointment to have your child's records transferred.

Hospitalization

We admit children in need of hospitalization to Westerly Hospital. Occasionally, a child may have a problem that requires management by a specialist or in an intensive care setting. In these instances we use Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI.

Insurance

We Luv Kids accepts most major insurance carriers and will assist you in filing claims for health care services. Please remember to bring your insurance cards to each visit so we may file your insurance properly. Should you have any questions about any insurance or billing issues, please call our office during normal business hours. 

Fees

Co-payments, deductibles and co - insurance amounts are due at the time of service. We accept personal checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards. When your insurance has responded, any remaining amount you owe will be billed to you at your home address. Please remit any payment due within 30 days. If you should need to make special arrangements concerning your bill, please call the office prior to your appointment.
